June 16—”Create a Butterfly Garden & Marvelous Monarchs” — Colorful Butterflies can add beauty, color life, and interest to your backyard. Butterfly gardens can be any size from a few containers to a large open field. Let us guide you in plant selection and location . As always we will have Butterfly tips to share, and More about our Marvelous Monarchs!! (*This Class will be held at Memorial Gardens*)
June 30—”Composting 101” — Whether you are new to composting or have been doing it for years, you are sure to pick up tips to be a better composter!!
July 14—”Bugs …the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly “ — Would you like to know what all those multi-legged critters are doing in your garden? Let us introduce you to your winning team: the pollinators, the soil conditioners and the killers!
July 28—”Bugs and Weeds—Friend or foe?” — Learn ways to identify insects or weeds using the Bug ID and Weed ID Tools to plan your defense.
August 11—”Landscaping with Native Plants” — Be a smart gardener, use Native plants. They are low maintenance, disease resistant plants to add color, texture and appeal to your gardens. They can be natures pollution filters in rain gardens, or add color to a dry corner of the yard too far away from the water source or grow in a wet spot.
August 25—”You say Toe—May—Toe, I say Toe—Mah—Toe” — Looking for the ultimate tomato for your sandwich, salsa or pasta sauce? Join us at our tomato tasting event and vote on your favorite! All tomatoes will be from local gardens, why not enter yours?
