UW–Madison Extension to Host Cow-Calf Workshop March 18 in Soldiers Grove

UW–Madison Division of Extension will host a spring cow–calf workshop on Wednesday, March 18 at 6:00 PM, offering beef producers timely guidance as they prepare for the spring and summer season. The program is designed for cow–calf operators seeking to strengthen herd health, improve management practices, and increase profitability.

This workshop will discuss best management practices across four timely topics:

  • Fly Control: Learn about pest management options and best practices for minimizing herd stress and maintaining herd health throughout the season.
  • Record Keeping: Explore methods to track performance and make informed management decisions that support long-term herd improvement.
  • Weed Control: Review of perennial pasture weed control options that balance effectiveness, environmental stewardship, and cost considerations.
  • Pasture Management: Gain insights into pasture management tips and tricks to help promote healthy pastures and animals.

The workshop will take place at the Soldiers Grove Community Center, 102 Passive Sun Drive, Soldiers Grove, WI 54665.
