Aging Healthy (Life Span)

UW-Madison Division of Extension’s Life Span programs help individuals, families and communities transition through the aging process by providing programming, resources and support on topics such as, family caregiving, healthy aging, planning ahead, financial education, creating aging-friendly communities, etc.

Aging Mastery

The Aging Mastery Program® (AMP) seeks to empower participants to embrace their gift of longevity by spending more time each day doing things that are good for themselves and for others.

AMP was developed by the National Council on Aging (NCOA), the program encourages mastery—developing sustainable behaviors across many dimensions that lead to improved health, stronger economic security, enhanced well-being, and increased societal participation. 

Wise Wisconsin

UW-Madison Division of Extension’s Life Span program presents Wise Wisconsin Winter Series. Extension Faculty, staff and partners from around the state will host sessions on topics that will help you increase joy and satisfaction in your life, provide you with new skills and resources, and help you connect with others during the cold, snowy winter months.

Planning Ahead

Many people wish to arrange their affairs to live well in their later years, and ensure that their end-of-life plans follow their wishes. Still, it is something that many people find challenging.  Planning AHEAD is a new online class from UW-Madison Division of Extension, created to address most aspects of end-of-life planning.   More details available HERE

WeCope

No matter who we are, how long we’ve lived, or our specific life experiences – we all live and deal with stress.  The World Health Organization defines stress as any type of experience that causes physical, emotional or psychological strain. It is your body’s response to anything that requires attention or action. Everyone experiences stress to some degree. The way you respond to it, however, makes a big difference to your overall well-being.  If you are interested in and would like more information regarding the FREE 7 week program via Zoom, you’ll find that information HERE

COMET

COMET™ is a short, two-hour program offered by UW – Madison Division of Extension educators for the agricultural and rural communities in Wisconsin. The program is a gentle introduction to supporting friends and neighbors in a vulnerable space to help them shift their mental health trajectory back to a place of wellness and away from the path of a mental health crisis.  Full details and upcoming sessions HERE

StrongBodies/Strong Women

StrongBodies

The StrongBodies™ program (formerly known as StrongWomen™) is a 10-12 week exercise program is for all ages of men and women. Each class includes progressive weight training, flexibility, and balance activities. This program catalyzes positive change in people of all ages to live stronger, healthier lives by providing knowledge, inspiration, access to programs, and ongoing support.
